“The Kenya Rugby Union held a meeting with the Senior Shujaa players: all those who participated in the 2017/2018 HSBC World Sevens Series and agreed to terms on a return to work formula for the remaining part of the season,” highlighted KRU.

Kenya 7s is currently risking relegation at the HSBC World Sevens Series where they lie 14th with 18 points, a tie with Wales, just four points above Japan who occupy the last and relegation spot. Paul Murunga’s side failed to pick a win at Vancouver 7s losing all the five matches. They are yet to reach a Cup quarter this season with Vancouver Tournament taking them down to 14th  Spot.

“The boys are welcome in the team. They will be given an equal opportunity to train and a chance to be selected to play in the remaining legs,” said Paul Murunga, the Shujaa Head Coach as quoted by KRU.

Kenya 7s is in pool C that has New Zealand, Fiji and Australia all currently in the top 6 according to the table series standing. This is the toughest pool Kenya has been banded in so far this season.
